Lacanian Psychoanalysis
Lacanian Psychoanalysis gives voice to suffering in order to transform it.
Welcome. Something in you is insisting, asking to be heard. You might experience this insistence as anxiety, depression, or patterns that repeat in your relationships with others. Psychoanalysis offers a unique way of working with speech, loosening painful knots and creating more surprise and more pleasure. In our work together, I will invite you to speak freely about anything and everything that’s on your mind. I will listen to you carefully and without judgment. We will explore your dreams, your fantasies, your memories, and the repetitions that characterize your suffering and make it difficult to pursue what you want—or even to know what that could be.
Over time, your speech will guide us into unraveling what is painful in your life, opening the door to your desire. I will work alongside you to create a place where you can articulate and discover the logics that cause your suffering, and facilitate your own creative process of engendering more freedom in your life. Many people have had the experience of reaching out to speak, only to encounter more attempts to “cure” what is most singular in them. Far from trying to cure you, our work will aim toward listening for what you want, in your own way. I welcome every form of difference.
How? There is no blueprint for analysis. This is not a work whose path can be charted in advance. We will begin with an initial call. The work will be guided by the fundamental rule: to say whatever comes to mind. If we decide to work together, we may meet twice, three times, or four times a week. We will also determine a fee to work with.
About Me. My name is Dr. Julien Fischer, and I am a candidate analyst with the Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis. I offer Lacanian psychoanalysis in California as a candidate in training. My approach is grounded in the work of Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan. It is also informed by my background in literature and feminist, queer, and trans theory. I hold a Student Research Psychoanalyst license in California (RPS 308). If you are curious about working with me, I encourage you to call or write to me today.
